5 DIY Blogs To Follow

A few years ago, I got into crafting. The local haberdashery became my favourite hangout, I amassed a collection of twee DIY books, and was soon hard at work making cushions, book covers and lavender owls. I extended my new-found passion to food, too; one Christmas, I gave homemade chutneys as gifts, and made truffles and marzipan chocolates to boot.

I soon found, however, that I was making items I simply didn’t need, and didn’t even like all that much. A lot of the projects I attempted required more skill and equipment than I had, or was willing to learn or acquire, so I eventually found myself running out of steam, and abandoning crafting altogether. Sorry, Martha.

More recently though – in the age of blogs and Pinterest – my interest in making things has blossomed anew. I’ve found myself obsessing over IKEA hacks, pinning home DIY ideas like there’s no tomorrow, and slowly but surely plotting how I can fill my home with handmade goods.

And so, I thought I’d share with you the blogs that I’ve been pouring over for inspiration.
